NEW CONTRACT STARTED

Philtech have started on the R125 Midland Links Contract. Philtech is carry out the electrical installation to Cathodic Protection Contract. The complete Cathodic Protection works is in the region of 1.1M, with the overall contract in the region of 8M. Philtech working as part of the supply chain for the Construction Management.
 
The contract consists of placing a cathodic protection system to 15 cross-heads on the suspended section of the M6 near Junction 8, known as Rayhall Viaduct in Area 9. Works Commenced in July 2005 and are scheduled for completion in late 2006.
 
Following completion of the concrete repair works, a DAC 85 conductive coating coating system is being applied to protect the cross-heads from further deterioration due to corrosion. The system has the facility of being controlled remotely using a system manufactured by Remco. Philtech are providing the following services: supply of specialist materials, electrical installation works, testing and commissioning, and technical support.
 

 
This is the third Midland Links contract in area 9 that Philtech are currently working on, under the Construction Management (CM).
 
Construction Management (CM) is a new type of contract procurement recently introduced by the Highways Agency (HA)
 
The Construction Management (CM) Contract has been extended until 2007 on a one year rolling contract.
